Alien Progenitor by Osmatar Alien Progenitor by Osmatar
Something I created inspired by the Alien Alpha theory and this wonderful piece of fanart by C.M.Kösemen. I wanted to try reimagining the Alien prequel mythology myself, starting with the elephantine features of the original Space Jockey, and came up with the idea that the true originator race resembled not only humans but also other near-sophont species of Earth that also carried large portions of their genome. These Progentors had been using the black liquid to dissolve and merge their own genome with Earth organisms many times along the last billion years or so, giving rise to - among other less clearly affected lineages - dicynodonts, proboscideans and humanity. Their visitations with the primeval humanity also inspired tales of strange animal-headed gods such as Set of the Ancient Egyptians and the Hindu god Ganesha.

On their last visit to Earth before departing from this spiral arm for another ten million years the Progenitors hand-picked the best of humanity to be uplifted into their celestial host, watchers, protectors and, in one distant day, teachers of the human race. However, these watchers posted on the world LV-223 fell from grace after they witnessed the brutal unreasoning ways of their earthly cousins and decided humans were not worthy of the wisdom of the Progenitors. It should be them, the chosen ones, who would inherit the mantle of gods, and those crude mockeries swarming across the face of the Earth would be unmade with the destructive power of the black liquid that once gave them form.

In the interest of clarity I have to point out that I named my Progentior before I knew Memo was working on his Alien: Nibiru script treatment, so the use of the same name to refer to the Engineers is coincidental.

An engineer to the engineers?

But what if the engineers engineer has an engineer?

Thanks! That was the original idea, a creature that is as much elephant-like as it's human-like.

I would've gave it a larger cranium because the way of how it's head is shaped makes it look primitive.

I'm not sure what you mean. It already has a hypertrophied braincase. It could be you are being fooled by the size of the proboscis-like nose and the large lower jaw.

Good point and the theory of them sharing the genome of animals with trunks is a truly mind blowing plot.

Your 3-D sculpture is amazingly well-balanced and realistic. It is also very creative!
