Deep One

I've drawn Deep Ones more times I can count since I first read The Shadow Over Innsmouth because they are among my favorite lovecraftian creatures, but I feel like I've only succeeded in capturing the right look just once, with this quickly sketched drawing. Just a hint of lost humanity under the fishlike features, and an unblinking stare, too alien to be read. Not just ugly or threatening but undescribably disturbing.

Has it really been over ten years since then? Time flies so fast even when you aren't having fun...
